Factors Related to Public Health Administration of District Public Health Officers in Kanchanaburi Province

Abstract

This cross-sectional survey research aimed to 1) study personal characteristic factors, perception of authority and transformational leadership of district public health officers; 2) identify public health administration of district  public health officers ; and3)  determine the relationship between personal factors, perception of authority, transformational leadership of district public health officers and public health administration of district public health officers in Kanchanaburi province. The study population was conducted in all 158 district health executives in Kanchanaburi province including 13 district public health officers and 145 sub-district health promoting hospital directors. Data were collected by using  questionnaires (R = 0.82) The statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, chi-square test, and Pearson's product moment correlation coefficient. The results revealed that the perception of authority, transformational leadership and public health administration capacities of the participants were at high levels. Factors significantly related to public health administration capacities of the participants were perception of authority, transformational leadership (p <0.001) and educational levels (p <0.05) Suggestions: (1) Policy, Should public health district management personnel, budgets, and parcels. Making strategic plan. (2) Import into action: Public health district should have to promote innovation. Research and use of technology, Management and administration jobs, Office correspondence, using the principles of good governance, there is a strategic management model aim achievement, coordination with the parties to the network, with the development of operational standards. Excellent power and encourage personnel and authority to provide to the Executive Director of the Sub-District Hospital.
