Comparison of an Integrated People-Centered Health Services for Patients with Diabetes and Hypertension as Perceived by health care Providers, Hatyai and Nathawee District, Songkhla Province

This research aimed to compare an integrated people-centered health services for patients with diabetes and hypertension of service units in Hatyai and Nathawee District,Songkhla Province,which were pilot areas participating in research project of implementation of an integrated and people-centered primary service system development, faculty of medicine, Ramathibodi hospital. Methodology: Cross-sectional study was used.Sample were selected by purposive sampling with 60 persons per district including multidisciplinary team from 4 types of service unit namely, Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and ANOVA Study results: Multidisciplinary team from 4 types had self-evaluation was clearly different. All aspects. (p<0.05)Primary care clusters participating in the project of both districts had higher self-evaluation than other service units.(p<0.05) For Hatyai district, it included inter-relation between people and family doctors and supportive system of organization for management. For Nathawee district, it included shared care plan and supportive system of organization for management. Primary care clusters which were community medical unit under hospital had higher self-evaluation than those which were sub-district health promoting hospitals under district public health office.(p<0.05) Health Information System, Continuity of Care and Coordination and Supportive system of organization. Health promoting hospitals under district public health office. had higher self-evaluation than, inter-relation between people and family doctors,(p<0.05)Study findings indicated that service provision for patients with diabetes and hypertension of both Hatyai and Natawee district was consistent with an integrated people-centered health services but not comprehensive and efficient to clients as expected.However,both 2 districts had systematic implementation,team working,coordination,good supporting system but not comprehensive and continuous.
