People with a history of close contact with COVID-19 patients. are high risk of contracting COVID-19. Knowledge and attitudes are appropriate to protect themselves from illness. This study used a cross-sectional analytical study. This study was conducted to study the prevalence of associations between knowledge, attitudes and COVID-19 self-prevention among high-risk contact groups in District, Mukdahan Province. Data were collected from high-risk contact groups of 687 people through online surveys in during April 2022. Multiple logistic regressions were applied to association analysis. The presented as ORadj, 95%CI
The result of the prevalence analysis revealed that knowledge was at high level or 55.3% (95%CI = 51.0 – 59.0) and attitudes was at moderate level or 42.9% (95%CI = 39.0 – 46.0)The result of association between knowledge could lead to 0.76 times probability of self-prevention by social distancing and avoidance of close contact with others, compared to the lower scores (95%CI 0.62 – 0.95; p-value = 0.013), attitudes toward could lead to 0.70 times probability of self-prevention (95%CI 0.54 – 0.91;p-value = 0.008).Knowledge could lead to 1.26 times probability of self-prevention by COVID-19 testing (95%CI 1.12 – 1.42; p-value<0.001). Attitudes toward COVID-19 could lead to 0.87 times probability of self-prevention by wearing mask (95%CI 0.78 – 0.98; p-value = 0.018). Attitudes toward COVID-19 self-prevention could lead to 0.85 times probability of self-prevention by washing hands (95%CI 0.73 – 1.00; p-value =0.001).Attitudes toward COVID-19 self-prevention could lead to 0.89 times probability of self-prevention by installing applications (95%CI 0.80 – 0.99; p-value = 0.032), self-prevention by on-site temperature screening, under control of the effect from variables of the last equation, demonstrated that the score of knowledge was insignificantly related to the score of attitudes. With these results, both knowledge and attitudes have influence on self-prevention, so educating and raising awareness of COVID-19 to reduce the risks of transmission.
