The role of Village Health Volunteers in Health Promotion people with Disabilities in The Community Na Hua Bo Subdistrict Phanna Nikhom District Sakon Nakhon Province.

Abstract

Cross-sectional descriptive research was employed in the study of the role of village health volunteers in promoting the health of people with disabilities in Na Hua Bo Sub-district, Phanna Nikhom District, Sakon Nakhon Province. The sample consisted of 235 village health volunteers. Data were collected by using a questionnaire that had confidence in the role of village health volunteers in promoting the health of persons with disabilities. The Reliability value of 0.935 in terms of motivation to work with a reliability value of 0.827, and social support has a reliability value of 0.814. Data analysis Descriptive statistics were used between October and November 2022, including frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, chi-square analysis, and Pearson's correlation coefficient. The level of significance was set at the statistical level of 0.05. The study found that the roles of village health volunteers in promoting the health of people with disabilities in the community were generally moderate, accounting for 73.6 per cent, and at a low level, accounting for 26.4 per cent. Considering each aspect, it was found that the leadership in coordinating public health operations in the community, working with government officials and local government organizations, Including other local community development organizations, at a moderate level, accounting for 73.2 per cent. Public relations, organizing a campaign, and providing knowledge on primary health care are moderate, accounting for 73.6 per cent. Then, activities to promote and restore the health of the disabled are in line with local health conditions and are moderate, accounting for 67.7 per cent. The Factors related to the role of village health volunteers in the health promotion of people with disabilities in the community were statistically significant (p-value < 0.05), including marital status, education level, Performance Motivation, and social support.
The findings of the study are recommended to the responsible agencies in the area. Promote participation of village health volunteers in promoting the health of people with disabilities in the community, and promoting recognition of the health promotion work of persons with disabilities in the community.
