Abstract

Abstract

            This study is descriptive research. The objectives were to study knowledge about determinants of health and the relationship between knowledge and health behaviours in the sample group located in the service area of the sub-district health promotion hospital, Faculty of Medicine Network, Naresuan University, aged 15 years and over by simple random sampling. Data collection by using a questionnaire. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics, F-test, and Spearman's correlation coefficient. The study found 462 sample groups, most of which were female 66.7%, 59.7% aged 15-21 years, 63.9% with bachelor's degrees, and 27.71% self-employed. Most of them have good knowledge 9 0. 0 4 %, especially dust and smoke, use of chemicals, and incineration had 98.92%, 98.27%, and 98.05% health effects, respectively. Religion, cultural traditions, and politics impacted health at 26.62%, 19.69%, and 14.28%, respectively. Most people have good health behaviours, accounting for 78.35%. Correct behaviours include 43.7% exercising more than 30 minutes, 59.5% sleeping more than 6 hours a day, 63.9% not smoking, and 94.6% having annual health check-ups. But some behaviours were not properly practiced, such as eating sweet, oily, and salty foods mixed in 71.4 percent, and drinking alcoholic beverages 36.8 percent. There was a statistically significant relationship between knowledge and health behaviours (r = 0.115, p-value ≤ 0.01). From the results, Knowledge of social determinants of health should be studied in all population groups to serve as basic information for creating learning innovations and promote comprehensive knowledge and understanding of factors affecting health.
