FACTORS INFLUENCING THE ROLE PERFORMANCE OF VILLAGE HEALTH VOLUNTEERS IN THE FAMILY DOCTOR TEAM MUEANG NONTHABURI DISTRICT NONTHABURI PROVINCE

This analytical cross-sectional study focuses on village health volunteers (VHVs) in family health teams aged 18 and above, who have been serving for at least one year in Mueang Nonthaburi District, Nonthaburi Province. The total population was 2,333, and a sample size of 805 was selected using simple random sampling. Data collection was performed using questionnaires, and analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, chi-square, Pearson correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression.
Demographics:
The majority of the sample were female (87.6%), with males accounting for 12.4%. Most participants were aged 60-79 years (69.7%), with the youngest being 23 and the oldest 85 years old, and an average age of 64.3 (SD = 79.58). The highest marital status was married (65.1%), with most having primary education (62.5%). The predominant occupation was homemaker (34.4%), with the majority having a monthly income of ≤ 10,000 baht (90.9%). Most had been VHVs for 16 years or more (52.1%).
The performance level of VHVs in family health teams was high, at 64.5%. Factors significantly related to VHV performance included role perception, motivation, attitude, and social support. The most influential factors on VHV performance in descending order were social support, motivation, role perception, and attitude, collectively predicting 41.3% of the variance in VHV performance.
