Development of a Screening Application for Dependent Persons in Ongkharak Subdistrict, Ongkharak District, Nakhon Nayok Province, Thailand

Abstract

This research aimed to develop a mobile application for screening dependent persons and to evaluate user satisfaction with the application. The study was conducted in Ongkharak Subdistrict, Ongkharak District, Nakhon Nayok Province. The research employed a developmental approach using the AppSheet platform for application development, with Google Sheets used for data storage. The research instruments included the developed screening application, a quality evaluation form completed by three experts, and a user satisfaction questionnaire administered to 20 actual users, including village health volunteers and community development officers. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, namely mean and standard deviation. The results showed that the application was able to record and display geolocation data in real time, accurately assess dependency status according to the specified criteria, support both iOS and Android operating systems, and function offline without an internet connection. Overall user satisfaction was at the highest level, with a mean score of 4.67. The application development reduced paper usage and improved the timeliness of data reporting, enabling personnel to plan and provide care for older adults more effectively. This development aligns with the Village Health Volunteer 4.0 (VHV 4.0) policy, which emphasizes the use of digital technology to enhance community public health services.
