Abstract

Multimodal approach is commonly used in acute pain
management. Intravenous paracetamol is an efficacious,
safe treatment and also reduces opioid consumption.
Combination of intravenous paracetamol, NSAIDs and
COXIBs provides better analgesia than each drug when
used separately. Preemptive and preventive analgesia
with intravenous paracetamol are providing better
postoperative pain without neonatal complications in
women undergoing cesarean section. Furthermore,
prophylactic intravenous paracetamol reduces postoperative
nausea and vomiting.
