The outcomes assessment instruments consisted of 1) demographic data recordings form, 2) the interviewing form regarding knowledge for blood control self-care, and 3) the interviewing form regarding self-care among persons with non-insulin dependent diabetes. The content validity and reliability of all instruments were tested. Descriptive statistics was employed to analyze data.

          The study found that:

  1. Subjects in the pre-guidelines implementation group had good self-care knowledge level as 38.81%, whereas there were 67.74% in the post-implementation group.
  2. Subjects in the pre-guidelines implementation group had good self-care behaviors level as 40.30%, whereas there were 64.52% in the post-implementation group.
  3. Subjects in the pre-guidelines implementation group could control their blood sugar level as 37.30%, whereas there were 59.70% in the post-implementation group.
