Integrating Global Citizenship Through Nursing Education

Nursing is a health profession. In addition to civic professionalism, nurses have a role of global citizenship. Being global citizenship gives individuals a sense of social responsibility. The Global Citizenship Education concept is used to promote and develop knowledge and cognitive skills to create values and attitudes of learners, and foster international cooperation and encourage the social transition, including participation in civic duties and dedication to social development.
This article intends to present characteristics of nurses as professional global citizens C-I-T-I-Z-E-N-S-H-I-P, Global Citizenship Education concept and the integration of global citizenship through nursing education. To prepare nurses to be global citizens and support nursing profession to become good global citizens.
