Abstract

Foot reflexology is a complementary therapy that can relieve low back pain in patients after transfemoral coronary angiography. Low back pain is a common discomfort in patients after transfemoral coronary angiography because patients are required to stay in a supine position and immobilize the affected leg after sheath removal to prevent vascular complications. Lying in a supine position and immobilizing the affected leg for a long time causes continuous pressure on the back muscles, causing low back pain. The effect of reflexology can increase blood flow, reduce muscle tension, and relax muscles, thereby reducing low back pain.
This paper describes low back pain after transfemoral coronary angiography, foot reflexology, foot reflexology for low back pain after transfemoral coronary angiography, and the nurse’s role in pain management for low back pain after transfemoral coronary angiography from the literature review. This can be used to provide care for patients after transfemoral coronary angiography.
