The Hybrid Angiography-Computed Tomography in Thailand: The integration between angiography with computed tomography in hybrid system for vascular angiography and interventional radiology
Keywords:
Hybrid angiography-CT, coronary angiography, Liver malignancy, Bleedings, InterventionaloncologyAbstract
Nowadays, interventional radiology takes on new challenges, increasingly with complex cases due to a growing number of populations which require hospitalization to treat severe and acute health problems, such as liver malignancy, gastrointestinal bleeding and trauma bleedings. In recent years, technological innovations help support the development of radiological imaging, while knowledge have been generated towards advanced treatment and more complicated procedures. Hybrid angiography-CT (angio-CT) integrates fluoroscopic angiography with CT scan in a single room. The combined unit increases efficiency of common interventional procedure workflow and clinical confidence. Moreover, it offers more possibilities to deliver safer and better results to all patients. In particular, can be applied for various interventional oncologic procedures and in emergency care by giving a chance for patients to receive minimally invasive procedure. Whilst, hybrid CT/angiography system is also being developed for further diagnosis and treatment.
