Knowledge regarding reproductive rights and needs of accessibility to services according to reproductive rights among adolescent in Phayao province

This descriptive research aimed at exploring knowledge and needs of accessibility to services for premature pregnancy according to reproductive rights. Participants were 360 adolescent aged between 13 – 19 years including male and women. The simple randomization technique was applied to the participants selected. The research questionnaires composes of 2 parts; knowledge regarding reproductive rights approved by experts (IOC =0.99), and its reliability was valued at 0.96; and needs of accessibility to services for premature pregnancy according to reproductive rights approved by experts (IOC =0.96), and its reliability was valued as Cronbach’s Coefficiency 0.96. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistic such as frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. Pearson’s correlation was used to find the relationship between knowledge and needs of accessibility to services according to reproductive rights.
Findings revealed that the most incorrect answer of knowledge regarding reproductive rights was right to life, equal rights, right to marry, and family planning rights. The highest score of accessibility needs to services for premature pregnancy according to reproductive rights in each component were 1) the readiness of service places by providing the direction of building in hospital (mean = 4.25, SD = 0.82), 2 ) health care providers by providing confidentiality (mean = 4.27, SD = 0.85), 3) services by providing good nursing care (mean = 4.32, SD = 0.80), 4) social support by promoting their families to participate in care (mean = 4.32, SD = 0.82).
Research suggests that health care providers should provide teenagers knowledge regarding reproductive rights by using multimedia as well as providing appropriate care according to adolescents needs in order to promote good quality of care.
