The road accident prevention model in Khok Lam Sub-district, Uthumphon Phisai District, Srisaket Province

Abstract

The road accident incident in Khok Lam subdistrict is a major problem. The statistic injury and death from road accident of Khok Lam Subdistrict, 2018 was found 1 death, representing about 25.4 Per hundred thousand population, Injuries from motorcycles have the highest number of 43 case, representing 1067 per hundred thousand population. The most accident was causing from drunk driving and inappropriate environment which is a risky point for road accidents. Therefore, Khok Lam Health Promoting Hospital leading the process of driving protection and reducing deaths from road accidents by applying the district health system (DHS) to prevent and reduce death from road accidents in Khok Lam Sub-district to achieve sustainability. The objective is to develop the model for prevent road accidents in Khok Lam district. This action research was using PAOR (P=Plan, A=Act, O=Observe, R=Reflect) circuits to analyze problems and solving problem of road accident in Khok Lam Sub-district. The development of the road accident prevention model for the people of Khok Lam Sub-district "KHOK-LAM Model" by cooperation with local administrative organizations to solving the problems and approve the traffic structures in the community was solved 100 percent risk points. The activities were leading to safety road, traffic and car using. The result found the number of accidents was decreased by 48.8 percent and no case of death. The knowledge about traffic discipline of the student and family health leaders quite which was so percentage.
