A development service model of community nurse at MaungKham Sub-District, Phan District, Chiang Rai Province

Abstract

This action research based on Stringer concept aimed to develop the service model of community nurse at MaungKham Sub-District in Phran District, Chiang Rai Province. There were 130 participants, including 18 community leaders, 63 home patients and care givers, 46 village health volunteers and community nurses and 3 researchers. Research instruments included the meeting guideline, the assessment checklist and questioners. Three steps of model development were 1) Look from data community 2) Think from meeting among community leaders and provider, and 3) Act from capacity building evaluation activities. Qualitative data was collected by meeting and analyzed by content analysis. Quantitative descriptive and Kruskal-Wallis test, paired t-test and Wilcoxon-sign rank test

The model of model of community nurse at Sub-District MaungKham comprise 3 components; 1) Stakeholders were community leaders, village health volunteer (VHVs), community nurse, and care givers : 2) organizations were VHVs groups, Nurse groups, political groups on village and Sub-distric lavel, care giver group. : 3) activities process were capacity building at community and health facility, training, home visit, review activities among stakeholders. Non-formal activities was coaching care givers at community and formal activities were meeting in political group and trained in VHVs and evaluated among stakeholders.; and 4) Evaluation activities were observed stakeholders by qualitative and quantitative which express on meeting and lesson learn. This model transform increased score of satisfaction among care givers. In VHVs and community nurse revealed motivation and satisfaction were increasing.Besides, score of satisfaction among VHVs and score of motivation among community nurse were significantly increasing at p-value <0.01) and, p-value <0.05
