Evaluation of information Perception about disease and health hazards, Behaviors of health prevention and control, and the Image of Department of Disease Control among Thai population under Office of Disease Prevention and Control 6_Chon-Buri province, 2019

Abstract

Evaluation of information Perception about disease and health hazards, Behaviors of health prevention and control, and the Image of Department of Disease Control among Thai population under Office of Disease Prevention and Control 6_Chon-Buri province was aimed to study about perception and satifaction for Informations of disease and hazards, Knowledge of disease and Health hazards , assessed the image of the department of disease control, including to study about the factors related to Behaviors of health prevention and control and factors related to the Image of department of disease control. This was a survey research, which used descriptive statistics and pearson’s correlation coefficient There were 510 samples, among Thai population under office of disease prevention and control 6_chon-Buri province.

This result showed that 96.1% had information perception about disease and health hazards, which the most accessible sources were TV/cable TV (89.4%), public health works (89.3%) and printed matter (89.3%). Almost of the sample group were satisfied with the information (97.9%). More than half had high level in term of knowledge about disease and health hazards (63.5%). There are 62.9% of them had appropriated behaviors of health prevention and control. And most of them were positive atititute on the image of department of disease control (94.9%).

The study of factor related with Behaviors of health prevention and control was found, there was four factors had moderate statistically significant consisting of the information Perception about disease and health hazards, source of informations, Satisfection of information ,and Knowledge of disease and health hazards had with (p-value= 0.626, 0.574, 0.497, and 0.452 by Step) .And one factor had low statistically significant was the image of department of disease control were found statistically significant (p-value= 0.383).  

The study of factors related to the image of department of disease control found that, satisfaction of information had moderate statistically significant (P-value=0.499). And Preception of information, source of information, Knowledge of disease and health hazards, and Behaviors of health prevention and control had low statistically significant (P-value=0.314, 0.332, 0.284, 0.383) by step.

From this study can be used in strategic planning in term of communication development, for improving humen's preception. And also leading to appropriate behaviors of health prevention and control which can related to the image of department of disease control.
