Abstract

Cissus quadrangularis L. (is a plant family vitaceae) is a traditional herb that use to treat hemorrhoid for long time. The drug attribute is pungent and bitter tastes; moreover, the following benefits are treat hemorrhoid, decrease the flatulence and cure irregular menstruation. The pharmacological action is as follows: anti-inflammatory, bone healing, reduce pain and bleeding; nonetheless, there was no statistic difference of bleeding. Finally, the subchronic toxicity study of the dried powder of Cissus quadrangularis L. was examined in rats. They received the hundred time as much dose as human for 3 consecutive months. The result is no significant blood chemistry and hematology parameter.
