Abstract

The current lifestyle changes and inappropriate food consumption behaviors may lead to oral health problems and metabolic syndrome, a crucial risk factor for heart and vascular diseases, as well as type 2 diabetes. Previous studies have highlighted the relationship between metabolic syndrome and its components with oral health. Therefore, emphasizing the importance of oral health care is essential for individuals with metabolic syndrome. The objective of this article is to review the literature related to oral health in patients with metabolic syndrome and the components of metabolic syndrome. This review aims to provide insights into promoting and caring for comprehensive health for individuals within this group.
