Sexual behavior among grade 11 students in a secondary school in Nakhon Phanom Municipality

Abstract
Objective : To assess sexual behavior among grade 11 students in Nakhon
Phanom Municipality.
Method : The samples in this research consisted of 159 students selected
by multistage random sampling. Data collecting instrument compounds of
general data and sexual behaviors. The research instrument was a
questionnaire which content validity was assessed by experts and
demonstrated the reliability with Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of
0.88. The data were analyzed for percentage, mean and standard deviation.
Results : The results of the study showed that 77.36 percent were living with
parents, 46.54 percent have ever received sex education from their
teachers, 66.67 percent have ever seen pornographic media, 62.89
percent have ever drunk alcoholic beverage. The samples had sexual
behaviors at low level.
Conclusion : The results reveal that the parents of the samples and teachers
seem to have protective effect upon junior teenager sexual behaviors
and encourage family members to express their love and care as
protective immunity against sexual behaviors.
