Abstract

Objective : 1. To study the satisfaction and expectations on the quality of work life of personnel in Prapokklao Hospital.
2. To compare the satisfaction state and expectations on the quality of work life of personnel in Prapokklao Hospital with their status (gender,age, and position level)

Methods : All 360 sample were random sampling from 2014 personals in Prapokklao hospital at difference position level. The questionnaire were analyzed in percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way analysis of variance and comparison test by Scheffe's method.

Results : As a whole of organization and a whole of each category: the human resource administration, and life balancing in working, most personnel had satisfied on the work life in Prapokklao Hospital at moderate level on the real situation, and at high level on the expectation, when comparing with the established criteria. It was also found that satisfaction of personnel in the real situation was less than the expectation satisfaction of personnel at significance level. As 16 items of the human resource category and 13 items of the life balancing category, the satisfaction of personnel in Prapokklao hospital in the real situation was less than the expectation satisfaction of personnel. The results from comparing the real situation toward the work life, no significant difference were found when comparing with gender and age. On the contrary, there was significant difference on the work life of personnel when comparing with the position level. It revealed that the temporary employee group had the satisfaction on the work life in Prapokklao hospital higher than the government service group at the .05 level of significance. The first three priorities of the crucial recommendations that should be solved and improved in some issues are time using, environment and climate on practice, and income benefits, respectively.

Conclusion : Satisfaction on the quality of work life of personnel in the real situation was less than the expectation satisfaction of personnel in Prapokklao Hospital.
