The result of treatment psoriatic patients with herbal compounds in Prapokklao Hospital.

Abstract

The objective this study is to determine the factors were associated and the result of the treatment psoriatic patients with herbal compounds. Retrospective studied in medical records and interviewed 80 psoriatic patients in Thai Traditional Medical Clinic. Prapokklao Hospital during October 2006 to September 2010. Forty five were male (56.25 percent) and thirty five were female (43.75 percent).All of cases were diagnosed and treated by modern medical doctors. The age onset between 7-91 years average 49 years. The most frequent of age more than 33 years 51 cases (63.80 percent), 17-32 years 27 cases (33.80 percent), less than 16 years 2 cases (2.5 percent). The age start to treat more than 33 years were 72 cases (90 percent), between 17-32 years were 8 cases (10 percent). The maximal duration of the diseases was 40 years and minimal duration was 1 year average 9 years. No history in family were 73 cases (91.25 percent). The lesion of the disease were improved 81.25 percent. The lesion were remission for a long time and then relapsing in short duration were 9 cases (13.85 percent) and relapsing for a long duration were 7 cases (14.77 percent) and the more and more improve were 46 cases (70.77 percent) The cases were not improved but continuing treatment were 3 cases (4.61 percent). The regular of taking medications associated with the remission of the disease significantly (P=0.048), but the anxiety, the heavy working and the harmful food were not associated with the remission. Herbal compounds can treat the psoriasis that associated with regular taking medications. The study should be correct more cases to analysis the associated factors with the successful of the treatment and failure to treat.
