Diagnosis and treatment erupted mesiodens in mixed dentition&impacted mesiodens in permanent dentition in non-syndromic patient : Two case reports.

Abstract
Supernumerary teeth are a relatively frequent disorder of odontogenesis characterized by an excess number of teeth. Mesiodens is the most common type of supernumerary tooth found in
the premaxilla between the two central incisors. They can be supplemental (resembling natural tooth) conical, tuberculate or molariform. It is the most significant dental anomaly affecting mixed and
permanent dentition mainly and primary dentition rarely. It may occur as an isolated dental anomalous condition or may be associated with a syndrome. Early diagnosis allows the most appropiated treatment often reducing the extent of surgery, orthodontic treatment and possible complications. The standard treatment is extraction of the supernumerary teeth to allow the permanent incisors to erupt properly. These 2 cases report describes impacted mesiodens and erupted mesiodens which delayed eruption of the permanent central incisor.
