Abstract

Microstomia is defined as an congenital or acquired condition with small oral orifice that may result from surgical treatment of orofacial neoplasms, cleft lips, maxillofacial trauma, burn, radiotherapy, or scleroderma. The most common problem with dental treatment of patients with microstomia is derived from the narrowing of the oral aperture and limited mouth opening. It may be impossible to make impressions and fabricate dentures using conventional methods. This article presents the method used to make the preliminary impression and the final impression.
