Abstract

Cervical cancer is one of major health problems in Thailand. Standard method for treatment of cervical cancer such as radiation and chemotherapy may have side effect to the patients. Many studies reported about using phytochemicals to enhance chemotherapeutic drug action, to reduce side effect and drug resistance. Phytochemicals have anti-inflammation and antioxidant activities which may associated with anticancer property. They can inhibit carcinogenesis including inhibit cell proliferation and angiogenesis, induce apoptosis and cell morphology. In future, application of phytochemicals may lead to a novel cancer treatment which has benefit to patients.
