Abstract

          The objectives of this descriptive research study were to examine Child Development Center service performance and the relationship between the job specification of teachers and nannies and the Child Development Center service performance in Muang, Pathum Thani. The study population covers 15 Child Development Centers under Local Government Organization across 14 sub districts. The Krejcie and Morgan method was used to identify the sample size of 14 centers . The study surveyed teachers and nannies in the sample centers recruited by a convenient sampling method. The research instruments included a questionnaire and a knowledge test. The study findings revealed that:


  1. for Child Development Center services, the health promotion factor and the children development factor followed the criteria at the highest level, the environment factor, the food cleanliness factor, the personnel factor and the parent involvement factor did at a high level; and

  2. for the early childhood care knowledge of teachers and nannies, there was no significant relationship with Child Development Center service performance.

          The findings of this study suggest that there should be a staff development plan for the training of teachers and nannies in parenting, child development and child care for at least 20 hours per year.
