Experiences of Self-care for Anti-aging in the Elderly: a Case Study in Health Region 5

Abstract

This phenomenological research study aimed to explore the self-care experience for anti-aging among the elderly. Participants were purposively selected to include 40 elderly who had experiences with self-care for anti-aging in a Health Region 5. The research tool used was a focus group guideline. Data were col­lected using a focus group, and analyzed by content analysis. The findings of the research revealed 3 main themes, as follows: 1) organic health, which groewn foods consists of mainly eating fish, eating, which vegetables as medicine, eating enough, eating less and choose organically 2) meeting and sharing activities together, which consists of mainly exercise, leisure time, and socialize 3) Enhancement of happiness, which consists of mainly positive thinking, meditation, and a caring society. The results of this research can be used as a guideline for the elderly to make the elderly make them to live a long life.
