Perceptions, beliefs, attitudes and social support Towards Birth Control among parents’ junior high school students in Extended Educational Opportunity Schools, Udon Thani Province

This cross-sectional descriptive study aimed to explore about perceptions, beliefs, attitudes and social support Towards Birth Control among parents’ junior high school students in Extended Educational Opportunity Schools, Udon Thani Province. Self-report questionnaire study was conducted with 297 of participants in April to May, 2021.Data were analyzed for proportions by descriptive statistics. Pearson chi-square or Fisher's Exact test was used to test the association between factors.
Result found that; almost had a medium level of perception (91.6%), whereas, the domain of belief, attitude and parents' social support towards birth control level were high (96.97%; 73.73%; 86.87). However, they don’t want their child using contraception, but should be more interested in studying. Regarding the factor relationship was found that Perceptions, beliefs, attitudes is related to supportive of parents with statistically significant (P value < 0.05).
Therefore, this will be used to educate and applied for suitable intervention for parents’ junior high school students.
