Factors related to Warfarin adherence among patients in Numkling hospital, Srisaket province

Abstract

Factors related to medication adherence among Warfarin drug patients in Numlking hospital, Srisaket province. To determine the factors relate to medication adherence warfarin drug patients in Numkling hospital. This is a descriptive study was conducted to describe factor related to medication adherence in warfarin patients. A sample 59 patients at warfarin

Clinic was recruited from Numkling hospital in Srisaket province. Data were collected from November 2021  through February 2022. The instruments included demographic questionnaires, social support scale, disease knowledge scale and medication adherence scale. Data were analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Pearson’s correlation was used to define significance at p<0.05.  

Results during the study period 59 warfarin patients were reviews Male 35 and  female 23. The most patients were receiving social support in high scale, warfarin using knowledge in moderate scale and medication adherence in high scale. The factors significantly negative related to medication adherence were social support and INR indicator (r=-.103, -.152). The factor significantly positive related to medication adherence were warfarin using knowledge, occupation, duration of use warfarin (r=.165, .157 and .121). The factors significantly not related to medication adherence were sex, age and another factors of demographic. The promote medication adherence, recommendations should include promote social support, patient empowerment by team medical personnel.
