Abstract

Abstract

This study was a qualitative study. The objective was to study the situation, problems,  and obstacles in the implementation of standards and investigate ways to develop under the conceptual framework related to personnel and laws applicable to private nursing home i.e. location, safety and service. The study tool was the interview guildeline. In-depth interview techniques was applied to related persons from 3 establishments, a total of 9 people. The study found that entrepreneurs had a positive attitude towards helping others and supported by family. The nursing profession has more career opportunities than any other field. The service provider has an initial income 15,000-18,000 baht per month with minimum welfare, including accommodation, food. The cost of accessing services in establishments that focus on Thai customers in receiving basic services such as accommodation, meals and caregivers starts at 18,000-25,000 baht, while establishments that focus on foreign customers start at 60,000-105,000 baht, depending on the demand for services and the severity of the illness. Most of the interviewees accepted and agreed with most of the standard requirements. But disagree on some terms that are difficult to implement and are costly. Suggestions for improvement are presented such as supporting for necessary training courses from the government sector, promoting education for occupational care of the elderly for local people, increasing the frequency of care manager course training to more than once a year, and a featured policy to care for dependent elderly in the form of co-payments under the cooperation between the public and private sectors, etc.
