ปัจจัยคัดสรรที่มีความสัมพันธ์ต่อภาวะความกดดันด้านจิตใจของผู้ดูแลผู้ป่วยจิตเภท SELECTED FACTORS RELATED TO PSYCHOLOGICAL DISTRESS OF FAMILY CAREGIVERS OF SCHIZOPHRENIC PATIENTS

บทคัดย่อ

วัตถุประสงค์: การวิจัยเชิงบรรยาย มีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อศึกษาภาวะความกดดันด้านจิตใจของผู้ดูแลผู้ป่วยจิตเภท และความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างปัจจัยคัดสรร (ระยะเวลาการเจ็บป่วย ความเกี่ยวข้องระหว่างผู้ป่วยกับผู้ดูแล ความรู้เกี่ยวกับการดูแลผู้ป่วยจิตเภท ความสามารถในการดูแลผู้ป่วยจิตเภทของผู้ดูแล การเผชิญความเครียด การสนับสนุนทางสังคม การรับรู้ความรุนแรงของโรค) กับภาวะกดดันด้านจิตใจของผู้ดูแลผู้ป่วยจิตเภท

วิธีการศึกษา: กลุ่มตัวอย่างได้รับการคัดเลือกแบบเจาะจงจำนวน 145 คน เครื่องมือในการวิจัยประกอบด้วย แบบวัดความรู้เกี่ยวกับการดูแลผู้ป่วยจิตเภท แบบวัดความสามารถในการดูแลผู้ป่วยจิตเภท แบบวัดการเผชิญความเครียด แบบวัดการสนับสนุนทางสังคม แบบวัดการรับรู้ความรุนแรงของโรค แบบวัดภาวะกดดันด้านจิตใจ โดยเครื่องมือทุกชุดได้รับการตรวจสอบความตรงเชิงเนื้อหาจากผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ จำนวน 5 คน และหาค่าสัมประสิทธิ์อัลฟาของครอนบาคได้ค่าความเที่ยงเท่ากับ .71, .91, .86, .93, .97 และ .97 ตามลำดับ สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลประกอบด้วยค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน สถิติสหสัมพันธ์พอยท์ไบซีเรียล และสัมประสิทธิ์สหสัมพันธ์ของเพียร์สัน โดยกำหนดระดับนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05

ผลการศึกษา: ผลการวิจัยสรุปได้ดังนี้

1. ภาวะกดดันด้านจิตใจของผู้ดูแลผู้ป่วยจิตเภทอยู่ในระดับมาก

2. ความเกี่ยวข้องระหว่างผู้ป่วยกับผู้ดูแล มีความสัมพันธ์กับภาวะความกดดันด้านจิตใจของผู้ดูแลผู้ป่วยจิตเภทอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05

3. ระยะเวลาการเจ็บป่วย การรับรู้ความรุนแรงของโรค มีความสัมพันธ์ทางบวกกับภาวะกดดันด้านจิตใจของผู้ดูแล อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05

4. ความรู้เกี่ยวกับการดูแลผู้ป่วยจิตเภท ความสามารถในการดูแลผู้ป่วยจิตเภทของผู้ดูแล การเผชิญความเครียด การสนับสนุนทางสังคมมีความสัมพันธ์ทางลบกับภาวะกดดันด้านจิตใจของผู้ดูแล อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05

Objectives: The objectives of this descriptive research were to study psychological distress of family caregivers of schizophrenic patients and determine relationships between selected factors (duration of illness, the association between patients and caregivers, knowledge in caring for a schizophrenic patient, caregiver’scapabilities in caring for schizophrenic patients, coping, social support, and perceived severity of the disease) and psychological distress of family caregivers of schizophrenic patients

Methods: Subjects were 145 caregivers of schizophrenic patients. The research instruments were Knowledge, Caregiver’s capabilities in caregiver of schizophrenic patients, Coping, Social support, Measuring on perceived severity of the disease, and the psychological distress. All instruments were tested for content validity by 5 experts. Cronbach’s alpha coefficients of the scale were .71, .91, .86, .93, .96 and .96 respectively. Data were analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation, point biserial and Pearson’s product moment correlation. Statistical significance level was at .05.

Results: Major findings were as follows;

1. Psychological distress of caregivers of schizophrenic patients were at high level

2. The association between patients and caregivers were statistically and significantly related to psychological distress of caregivers of schizophrenic patients, at .05 level.

3. Duration of illness, and perceived severity of the disease were positively and significantly related to psychological distressof caregivers of schizophrenic patients, at .05 level.

4. Knowledge in caring of schizophrenic patients, caregiver’s capabilities, coping, social support were negatively and significantly related to psychological distress of caregivers of schizophrenic patients, at .05 level.
