Abstract

Latex allergy is a type I hypersensitivity response to natural rubber latex protein. Diagnosis is made by skin prick test, use test or latex RAST in conjunction with concordant clinical history. Latex RAST, an in vitro test, is now available in Thailand. It is very useful and a dermatologist should be familiar with this test.
