Abstract

Fragrance is the second most common cause of allergic contact dermatitis (ACD). The first sensitization is induced by perfume and deodorant products. The ACD from the various fragrance containing products were increasing due to widespread fragrance added to mask the unpleasant odours or to add character of the products. Patch testing with balsam of Peru and fragrance mix are the key to diagnose fragrance allergy. The basic knowledge of fragrance, fragrance allergy were reviewed.
