ANALYSIS OF MUAYTHAI CHERNG MUAY USAGE AMONG THE BEST MUAYTHAI BOXERS BY THE SPORTS WRITERS ASSOCIATION OF THAILAND (SWAT)

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the use of Muay Thai techniques by outstanding Muay Thai boxers certified by the Sports Reporters Association of Thailand. The sample group used in this research was 37 outstanding Muay Thai boxers certified by the Sports Reporters Association of Thailand between 1984-2022. The sample group was obtained by purposive selection. The research instrument was the analysis of the use of Muay Thai techniques by outstanding Muay Thai boxers certified by the Sports Reporters Association of Thailand. The researcher collected data by analyzing video clips of Muay Thai boxing competitions, 5 video clips from each sample. The total of 185 video clips were systematically inspected and evaluated. The statistics used in data analysis were percentage, mean, and standard deviation The research results shown that: 1) The results of fist technique in the best Thai boxers competition sort in the order were:  the most is Ka Jig Khai, it is repeat straight fist that distract the opponent to open the goal that mostly used by the boxers. Next is Phraprai Lom Sing Korn and the at least is Hak Daan Lom Krod. 2) The results of footwork technique in the best Thai boxers competition sort in the order were: the most is Taam Duay Khaeng, it is one step footwork that can both fight and defend. It is mostly used by the boxers. Next is Plang Insee and the at least is Salab Nang. 3) The results of knee technique in the best Thai boxers competition sort in the order were: the most is Yok Nang, it is an easy slantingly knee that can both fight and defend. It is mostly used by the boxers. Next is Kummaphan Phoong Hok, and the at least is Ngoo lai Tukkae. 4) The results of elbow technique in the best Thai boxers competition sort in the order were: the most is Pra Yai Kae, it is elbow technique up and down that easy to use and it can use when the boxers flight. It is mostly used by the boxers. Next is Poong Hok and the at least is Fah Lun.
