A CONSTRUCTION OF HANDBALL SKILLS TEST AND NORMS FOR HANDBALL ATHLETES

Abstract
The purposes of this study were to construct four handball skill tests and establish normative criteria for handball athletes from the Thailand National Sports University. The sample consisted of handball athletes from Thailand National Sports University who participated in the 45th Thailand National Sports University Games, known as the "Physical Education Games." The sample included 80 male and 80 female handball players, selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments were four skill tests designed specifically for the handball athletes, which measured four key skill areas: ball reception and passing, dribbling, attacking, and shooting. The statistical analysis involved calculating the mean, standard deviation, and Pearson’s correlation coefficient to assess the reliability of the test.
Results were found that: -
The handball skills test for the National Sports University handball athletes, which consists of 4 test items: receiving - passing the ball, dribbling the ball, scoring a goal, and shooting a goal, is equal to 1.00, 0.80, 0.80, and 0.80, respectively. The reliability correlation coefficients of the four items were very good, and the test's objective correlation coefficients were 0.99, 0.99, 0.93, and 0.99, respectively, all of which were very good.
