Abstract

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is frequently found in both male and female. It is mostly found in elderly people who aged more than 60 years. Colorectal cancer may be caused by heredity and health behavior including; food consumption, smoking, alcohol drinking and lack of exercise and etc. Most of patients with colorectal cancer are diagnosed in advanced stages of disease. In addition, it is resulting metastasis to lateral cells, lymph nodes or organs such as liver, lung, brain and skeleton and etc. The literature review shows that factors associated with mortality among patients with colorectal cancer are demographic, pathological (age, sex and marital status) pathological factors (grade differentiated, tumor location, extension, invasion, metastasis, histological type and stage) and treatment factors. At present, there are the progressive and technological treatments in colorectal cancer and increasing the survival of patients with colorectal cancer. However, medical and health professionals who are responsible for colorectal cancer care should consider the demographic, pathological and treatment factors in order to be prognosis and made decision of guideline and care among patients with colorectal cancer.
