The Development of Elderly Care Process with Dependence under Long-Term Care Fund of PoPhan Sub district Administrative Organization, Na Chueak District, Maha Sarakham Province

Abstract

This study was a participatory action research (Participatory Action Research: PAR) to develop the process of caring for the elderly under the long-term elderly care fund of Por Phan Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Na Chueak District, Mahasarakham Province. Participants were from three operational sectors including public sector, political sector and public health sector, group with 262 participants in total. Data were collected by using questionnaires. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation. The results showed that with operation in the area is 6 steps 1) studying and analyze the context 2) organizing a workshop plan 3) Establishing 2 projects, namely the potential development project for long-term public health care fund for dependent elderly and the long-term public health care program for dependent elderly. These projects consisted of 3 activities, such as activity 1: workshop, activity 2: caring for the elderly who were dependent on individualized care plans, activity 3: monitoring, evaluation, and performance reporting 4) performing tasks as planned 5) following up on supervision and supporting for project implementation 6) summary and evaluation suggestions back to development. To do this, the dependent elderly was received care from the fund and related parties satisfied with the fund's operations, in addition to fund for long-term care to the elderly had been improved. The success factors were that the target group was involved in the process of caring for the dependent elderly, enthusiasm from the start, performing duty responsibly, following up and evaluate the work done together until achieving the set target.
