Abstract

This article explores the role of bedside ultrasound in advancing patient safety during anesthesia procedures through improved gastric content assessment. Traditional methods, such as palpation, auscultation, and pH testing, exhibit limitations in accuracy and efficiency. Bedside ultrasound emerges as a promising alternative, offering real-time visualization, non-invasiveness, and enhanced accuracy in identifying gastric content characteristics. Comparative studies demonstrate its superiority over traditional methods, emphasizing its potential to mitigate risks associated with gastric content aspiration. Training and cost considerations are addressed with solutions focusing on education integration and cost- benefit analyses.
