A Development of Family Health Database System of Public Health Nursing Group Faculty of Nursing Chiang Mai University

The process of Family Health Services brought a large number of Family Health information, the ways for set nursing interventions that proper for each family contexts and also the output evaluation after finished the service. As a result from This situation, we have to use a lot of spaces for data storage and these data spaces are not well organization and also difficult to use. The purpose of the study is to develop the Family Health Service database for downing size of data storage ,well organize of the data system and make the database useful for teaching.
The study was divided into three phases. The study started with the Preparation Phase. This phase was focus on find out the type of the data and the database components that the users require. The Focus group and brainstorming process was used with the six of the nursing instructors studying. Secondly, the study was continued to the phase of database development.During this phase, the family health information was operated to be the database components. Finally, the study was ended up with the phase of evaluation. the questionnaires and the Focus group method were used for evaluated about the usability of the developed Family Health database among six of nursing instructors and seventy-five of senior nursing students. Descriptive statistics and content categories were used for data analysis.
The results of the study was composed of the Family Health database and usability. The Developed Family Health database consisted of the family and member demographics data, family health behavior, Home visiting planning, family and members health problem, nursing intervention and the output evaluation. The family Health database was the online database and easy to access at http://mis.nurse.cmu.ac.th/familydb. In dimension of the database usability, the study was found that more than half of the sample agreed that the database was suited to use in the real situation. Moreover, this database was easy to access, useful for lowering data storage and well organize. By the way, some of the samples suggested that this the developer should add the mode or some function for record the detail of nursing interventions and should notify some part of health problem and nursing intervention output to the healthcare organization for promoted the continuing care in each family.
