Abstract

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is an important complication in post-radical prostatectomy. Nurses take crucial role in direct care to patients by teaching the development of ED after radical prostatectomy, stimulating the patients to share their concern, evaluating their sexual functions before the operation, instructing appropriate use of drug treatment, teaching exercises for the pelvic floor muscles. In addition, take a consultant role, support, and refer to specialist for sexual therapy when the need of the patients/couple is identified with respect for the patient’s individuality.
