Abstract

The advocacy healthy public policy based on participatory to management of alcoholic consumption in the community. It is a process that is important to public health. The lesson learn will lead to further expansion in other areas.  The purposes of this descriptive research was to explore the Lessons Learned of the participatory public health policy management in alcoholic consumption problem, Mae-Tha district, Lamphun Province. The subjects were 30 included key person of local administration, health officer from primary care unit, community leaders, representing groups in the community, and public representative. The research instruments were the group discussion questions and unstructured individual interview questions. Data were analyzed using data classification and Theme.

Results of the study revealed that the participatory public health policy management in alcoholic consumption problem, Mae-Tha district, Lamphun Province used a participatory process based on 5 main ideas. It is 5Co, co-decision, co-editing, monitoring and evaluation and create public policy to reduce the problem of alcoholic consumption and do the agreement document between organizations. It is 3Not 2Co, not sell, not drink and not sell, co law enforcement and co-investigate.  The result of this to show the community involvement can contribute to building a shared public health agenda.
