การดูแลผู้ป่วยกระดูกต้นขาหัก หลังจากได้รับการผ่าตัดยึดตรึงกระดูกภายใน

ปัญหาการเกิดกระดูกต้นขาหักถือว่าเป็นปัญหาที่มีความสำคัญ และพบได้บ่อยในผู้สูงอายุ การรักษากระดูกต้นขาหักที่ได้รับความนิยมส่วนใหญ่คือ การผ่าตัดเพื่อจัดชิ้นกระดูกหักให้เข้าที่ และยึดตรึงกระดูกภายในเพื่อให้กระดูกอยู่นิ่ง แต่อย่างไรก็ตามภายหลังจากการผ่าตัดหากเกิดการดูแลที่ไม่มีประสิทธิภาพ ผู้ป่วยเกิดภาวะแทรกซ้อนขึ้นจะไม่สามารถให้การเยียวยาผู้ป่วยให้ฟื้นคืนสภาพได้เช่นเดิม จนเกิดผลกระทบต่อคุณภาพชีวิตกลายเป็นผู้ที่อยู่ในภาวะพึ่งพิงได้สูง และเสียชีวิตจากข้ออักเสบติดเชื้อตามมาได้ ดังนั้นพยาบาลต้องมีความรู้ความเข้าใจในบทบาทสำคัญของการให้ความรู้ สร้างความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับวิธีการปฏิบัติตัว หรือการดูแลตนเองภายหลังการผ่าตัด รวมทั้งการดูแลทางด้านจิตใจของผู้ป่วย เพื่อให้ระยะเวลาในการฟื้นฟูสมรรถภาพภายหลังการผ่าตัดรวดเร็ว ไม่เกิดภาวะแทรกซ้อน สามารถฟื้นตัวจนกลับไปประกอบอาชีพ และมีคุณภาพชีวิตที่ดี มีประสิทธิภาพ ภายหลังจากการผ่าตัดต่อไป
