The Study of Non – Communicable Disease Prevention Behaviors of Students of Chaiyaphum Rajabhat University

The objective of this study was to explore the non – communicable disease behaviors of a student who’s registered at Chaiyaphum Rajabhat University on 2017. The samples were conducted on bachelor degree students by cluster random sampling method. (n = 331) The research data were collected by the Health Behavior Questionnaire. Descriptive statistic was present the data analysis with Frequency, Percentage, Mean, and S.D.
Result: The individual characteristic of samples were low level of body mass index (n = 36, 17.2%) and overweight (n = 8, 2.4%). Most of them did not check their health (n = 176, 53.2%). The research found the health behavior of samples regarding to nutritional behavior were moderate (n = 196, 59.6%). The unpleasant behavior about the type of food consumption include Sweetest (n = 37, 11.2%) Saltiest (n = 12, 3.6%) Oily flavor (n = 26, 7.9%). The physical exercise behavior showed they were done 3 time/week (n = 36, 14.1%) no exercise (n = 92, 27.8%). The emotional management behavior found the similar relaxation technics such as music listening, movie, reading, planting, communicating, and travel. However they were low contacted to the adviser. About the alcohol consumption behavior were found 91 samples (27.5%) and 9 samples were smoke (2.7%).
The research was suggested that the University need the projects to enhance the exercise behaviors. The smoking and alcohol reducing campaigns must be created. Furthermore, the non – communicating chronic disease surveillance system is the key strategic to protect the population of university by produce the activity of advisor to close contact with their student. The health check must process in all years
