The Effect of Preparation Procedures on the Success in Implementation of Quality System and Standards of Practice in Medical and Public Health Laboratories, Ta Phraya District Health Service Network, Sa Kaeo Province

This routine to research (R2R) aims to study effect of preparation procedures on the success in implementation of quality system and standards of practice in medical and public health laboratories, Ta Phraya District Health Service Network, Sa Kaeo Province. Action research based on the Deming quality cycle concept was performed and measured by one group pre-posttest design. 30 personnel who work in quality system and standards of practice in medical and public health laboratories at sub-district health promoting hospitals were recruited in this study. The samples participated in the 4-steps as follows 1) Preparation; study of contexts and problems in quality system and standards of practice in medical and public health laboratories. 2) Action; Implementation in quality system and standards of practice in medical and public health laboratories. 3) Monitoring; follow up and assess by evaluating process quality and results and 4) Reflection, improvement and modify data by questionnaires and interview forms. Data were analyzed by using percentage, mean, standard deviation and Paired Sample t-test. The result found that after experiment personnel who work in quality system and standards of practice in medical and public health laboratories had a higher average score of knowledge than before with statistical significance (p=0.005) and the result of the assessment of the quality system and standards of practice in medical and public health laboratories had a higher average score than before with statistical significance (p=0.001) and all sub-district health promoting hospitals met the standards. Based on the findings found that personnel who work in quality system and standards of practice in medical and public health laboratories had knowledge and working improvement higher than before. Therefore, this research can be used as a model for further development.
