This descriptive correlational study investigated the factors predicting stress among nursing students under the Praboromarajchanok Institute, Ministry of public health. A purpose stratified sampling and random sampling technique was used to recruit a sample of 225 nursing students of a college of nursing under the Praboromarajchanok Institute. Data were collected using a demographic data questionnaire, the Resilience Inventory, the Negative Event Scale, and the Thai version of a Stress Test. Their reliability were .86 .94 and .88, respectively. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Pearson correlation, and stepwise multiple regression was applied for data analysis.
The results were as follows:
1. Nursing students under the Praboromarajchanok institute, Ministry of Public health had a moderate level of stress (Mean = 2.78, SD = .92).
2. Relationships with family members were significantly positively correlated with student stress. Resilience, negative life events, academic concerns and financial constraints could jointly explain 21 percent in the variance of stress in nursing students (statistical significant at p<.05), with resilience being the strongest predictor of stress.
