Abstract

The purpose of this descriptive study was examined the relationships between the variables to the depression on students of Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Suratthani were test. The sample composed of 491 persons. The Young’s Internet Addict Test: YIA20 was applied to data collect which composed of 20 items to classify the internet overuse with Cronbach’s alpha coefficient = .89. And the 2Q and 9Q Depression Inventory which developed by the Department of Mental Health, Ministry of Public Health were applied.

Result showed that most of participants 95.92% had mobile phone with internet access. The times spent on internet were 3 – 4 hours per day. The highest score of these three activities were Line (97.35), Facebook (97.15), and YouTube (91.45).The heath problem of over internet used was the internet addiction (1.63%), physical and psychological health problem. Moreover, 84.52% was classified as internet overuse and 5.10% was depression. Their were the relationship between academic level among the internet available and depression significant p<.05. The lower academic year was low level of internet behavior, as long access to the internet.

Therefore, The result indicate Boromarajonani College of Nursing Suratthani much Develop educational program regarding the creative internet use and harm minimization should promote.
