The effects of stress management program on stress of the nursing students

Abstract

This study was a quasi-experimental research. The objectives of research was to compare stress of the nursing students before and after using the stress management program. The samples were selected by the purposive sampling technique to include 60 people of the second year nursing students in Boromrajonani College of Nursing Chai Nat. They were divided into two groups: 30 nursing students who were provided with a routine model as the control group, and the other 30 patients who received the stress management program as the experimental group. The intervention instruments were the stress management program. Data were collected using the Suanprung Stress Test 20. Data were analyzed by frequency, percentage, chi-Square, mean, standard deviation and t-test.

The results of this study showed that:

1. The experimental group's mean score of the stress was significantly lower than before involving the program at the level 0.05 (p<0. 05).

2. The experimental group's mean score of the stress was significantly lower than control group at the level 0.05 (p<0. 05).
