Predictive Factors of Social Quotient among Nursing Students

Abstract

This was predictive correlational research study. The objectives were to study social quotient and predictive factors of social literacy of nursing students. The sample was 92 nursing students year 1- 4 in the academic year 2018 of Boromarajonani College of Nursing Changwat Nonthaburi. The simple random sampling with simple without replacement individually was implemented. The instrument was social literacy test consisting of 5 components including situational awareness, empathy accuracy, presence, self-presentation, social facility. Its reliability was .82. The data were analyzed using descriptive and multiple linear regressions.

The results found that the samples had moderate level of social quotient (Mean = 121.89, SD = 13.07). The situational awareness and social facility were be able to predict the social quotient of nursing students with 48.6 percent (R2 = .486, p < .01). The results of this study can use to develop guideline to promote social quotient of nursing students.
