Abstract

The purpose of this quasi-experimental research was to study the effect of a health belief awareness program on stroke prevention behavior in patients with high blood pressure. Khian Sa Hospital Surat Thani Province. The sample group consisted of both male and female individuals aged between 35-59 years who had been diagnosed by a doctor as having high blood pressure and had their blood pressure level assessed. The systolic blood pressure (SBP) level is greater than or equal to 180 mmHg and/or the diastolic blood pressure (DBP) level is greater than or equal to 110. millimeters of mercury and received treatment at the accident and emergency department. Khiansa Hospital Suratthani Province. The sample size was calculated using the G*Power program for 30 people using a purposive random sample. The research tools are 1) Health Beliefs Awareness Program 2) Questionnaire. Data were analyzed using statistics, percentages, means, standard deviations and tested hypotheses using paired t-tests and independent t-tests at the statistical significance level of .05.

The results of the research found that 1) After the experiment, hypertensive patients in the experimental group Have an average score of knowledge about warning signs of vascular disease was at a high level (Mean=12.02), which was higher than the control group's average knowledge score on warning signs of vascular disease. It is at a moderate level (Mean=10.71) with statistical significance (p<.05). 2) After the experiment, hypertensive patients in the experimental group There was an average score of attitudes towards prevention of stroke. was at a high level (Mean=4.00), which was higher than the control group's mean score on stroke prevention attitudes. It is at a moderate level (Mean=3.67) with statistical significance (p<.05). 3) After the experiment, there was an average score for stroke prevention behaviors. was at a high level (Mean=4.05), which increased from before the experiment Statistically significant (p<.05) 4) After the experiment, hypertensive patients in the experimental group Have an average score of stroke prevention behaviors was at a high level (Mean=4.05), which was higher than the control group's mean score on stroke prevention attitudes. It is at a moderate level (Mean=3.61) with statistical significance (p<.05).
