Quality of Complete Dentures, Service Quality and Oral Health-Related Quality of Life in Clients Wearing Complete Denture at District Health Promotion Hospital, The Tha Rong Chang Hospital Network, Phunphin District, Surat Thani Province

This descriptive research was conducted to evaluate the quality of complete dentures, service quality, and oral health-related quality of life in clients wearing complete denture at district health promotion hospital, The Tha Rong Chang hospital network. The study population was all people who received complete denture services at 4 sub-district health promotion hospitals, totaling 30 people. The data collection instrument was a four-part. 1) personal information, 2) quality of complete denture, 3) service quality, and 4) oral health-related quality. The content validity was verified by three experts. Index of item objective congruence: IOC for parts 2-4 were 1.00, and the reliability of .95, .85, and .92 respectively. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentages, means, and standard deviations.
The research results found that the sample group (n=30), most participants were female (61.3%) with a mean age of 70.83 years (SD.=8.54). The retention of the upper complete dentures was mostly good, while the retention of the lower complete dentures was mostly at a fair level. The stability of both upper and lower complete dentures wears generally good. Service quality, it was found that 33.33 % were complete dentures dialy, mostly for chewing food and aesthetics. In addition, 95.65 % reported increased confidence and greater willingness to smile. In terms of oral health-related quality of life, 60.87 % of participants reported a very good level. The mean OIDP score was 6.13 ± 10.84. The most commonly affected by 39.13 % of participants. The dentist should follow up 3-5 times after inserting dentures. The hospital should have a referral system for implant over denture procedures.
