Abstract

The objectives of this research and development were to develop wound practice arm model made with silicone, to practice wound dressing skills for nursing students. This research was divided into three phases, including the process of preparation, development and production, and trial and evaluation. The trial was conducted in the teachers and nursing students, 2nd year Bachelor of Nursing Science Program of Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Chakri Rat. The research samples were randomized with purposive samplings 81 students nurse. The research data were conducted by using group discussion. The validity of the instruments was assessed using Cronbach's alpha criteria. The reliabilities of each questionnaire were .81 and .82 respectively. The evaluation of this model was performed and analyzed by content analysis and calculating the percentage, mean and standard deviation (S.D).

The result revealed that the silicone could be used in the production of wound dressings arm model, with 10 regular technical processes, the model has the realistic size, color and character more durable and reusable silicone In comparison to the model made with latex. The result of satisfaction for using the model showed that the silicone model is real flexibility and realistic feel.
